Priti Desai

Priti Desai is an abstract mixed media artist from Pune. She is trained in Applied Art and has done her Advanced Graphics Design Certification from CDAC Pune in 2002. Freelancing as a designer since 2003, she has worked with a diverse clientele such as Women Entrepreneurs, Restaurants, Software Companies, Doctors, and Spiritual groups like Ananda Sangha.

She has been actively participating in exhibitions since October 2024, including Kalagoshti by Artlane. She was also selected for VEVA Art’s exhibition at The Box, curated by artist Raju Sutar, and 'Aaina', curated by artists Sharad and Suchita Tarde, among others.

Working with mixed media, Priti creates visuals that represent a non-existent world, based on the curiosity of what it might be like to peep inside a human mind. For her, at times it is a room filled with traces of people, places, feelings, connections, colours or experiences that have left an impact.

She creates to express her amusement at the things that fascinate her, especially the human mind and its mechanisms, and the feeling that “I am but a minuscule part of this wondrous world”. Each artwork is a new experience for her. Through her work, Priti wishes to create a space for the viewer to glimpse, to form their own ideas and stories, and to connect the work with their own experiences. She hopes to pass on the beauty of what she has seen, for them to feel.
